Counsilio vs Safe Space in Singapore: how to choose
Compare the help with matching, the actual appointment cost and how much notice you need when plans change.
Counsilio may fit if you want to talk through your needs with someone who helps arrange a suitable match. Safe Space may fit if you want a recommended shortlist and then choose and book through a platform. Both have an online counselling route for people in Singapore. Counsilio’s long-term sessions start at S$80 for 50–60 minutes. Safe Space lists individual video sessions at S$80–S$205 for 60 minutes. Those prices describe different offers, so compare the proposed arrangement rather than treating the two S$80 figures as identical.
Publisher disclosure: Counsilio publishes this comparison and is one of the providers discussed. We checked Safe Space’s official Singapore website and its linked help centre on 16 October 2026, alongside Counsilio’s owner-confirmed service records. This is a practical comparison, not an independent endorsement or a ranking of clinical quality.

How much of the choice do you want help with?
At Counsilio, you can start without a shortlist. We speak with you about what is happening and what would make support workable, then help find a suitable counsellor. Quality, matching and explaining the proposed arrangement are our responsibility. You remain part of the decision, with room to say that a preference or practical need has not been met.
Safe Space’s booking guide describes a questionnaire, a list of recommended therapists and a price filter. You choose a therapist and session duration, then see that practitioner’s rate. Its FAQ lists Visa and Mastercard payment.
For example, you might know that work has become difficult, but have no idea who to choose. You may prefer talking that through with Counsilio’s onboarding team. If seeing a shortlist and comparing appointment options helps you feel ready, Safe Space’s route may suit you. These are preferences about getting started; they do not predict which therapy will work better.
At Counsilio, we explain the proposed counsellor’s fit and the relevant information about the arrangement. You do not need to independently judge a whole roster. If you need psychological testing, diagnosis or medication, establish the appropriate care route first; our professional-roles guide explains those separate services.
Does the offer fit your monthly budget?
Counsilio’s confirmed starting price applies to long-term sessions. During onboarding, we explain the proposed cost and commitment before you decide. You can discuss a monthly limit as well as what you can manage per session.
Safe Space’s pricing policy, dated 4 May 2026, also lists a separate S$40–S$60 counsellors-in-training tier. That column does not specify a session duration. Treat it as a distinct training offer, not the standard therapist rate or a guaranteed slot. GST treatment is not stated in that policy; use the selected appointment’s payable total.
Here is an invented budgeting example: someone with S$300 a month can afford three S$100 appointments, before any other costs. A fourth appointment would take that to S$400. This arithmetic does not recommend a therapy frequency. Agree the proposed pace and cost with the provider, then decide whether it is sustainable. The session-or-plan guide helps with commitment questions.
A provider’s price does not establish CHAS, MediSave, insurance or employer coverage. If funding determines whether you can start, use our current funding guide and the rules for your actual care route. For a wider range of providers and community options, see the Singapore cost comparison.
What happens if your plans change?
Counsilio’s owner-confirmed cancellation cutoff is 12 hours before the session. This is a notice period, not a statement that every cancellation creates a cash refund. We make the applicable terms clear as part of the proposed arrangement.
Safe Space’s published cancellation FAQ uses 24 hours for video sessions and 72 hours for face-to-face sessions. It describes full refunds outside those notice windows and no refunds inside them. Cancellation and rescheduling are separate actions; a cancellation cutoff alone does not explain every appointment change.
Suppose your next week’s shifts are only confirmed on Friday. A Monday in-person appointment with a 72-hour notice rule may be difficult to manage. That is a reason to consider the appointment time and policy together, not a reason to assume one provider is more caring. Check the applicable change terms before confirming an arrangement.
Which practical route fits you?
If you want personal help with matching: Counsilio takes your concerns, preferences, budget and timing into the onboarding conversation, then helps arrange suitable online support. You can also tell us if a match does not work; we listen and help you switch.
If you want a shortlist and an account-based booking route: Safe Space’s process gives you recommendations to choose from. Its FAQ says you can return to the dashboard and book a different therapist if the fit is not right.
If you need to meet in person: Safe Space lists that option; Counsilio’s verified Singapore offer is online. Think about where you can speak comfortably and whether travel is realistic. Our modality guide and private-space guide can help you decide.
Language and access needs belong in the actual match. Describe the language you are comfortable using, any accessibility needs and the times you can protect. A platform’s general offering does not confirm that a particular practitioner or slot meets them.
Take one useful next step
If you want to explore Counsilio, a simple enquiry is enough: “I’d like help finding someone for individual counselling. My budget is around S$300 a month, and my work hours change each week.” That is an example, not something you need to copy or a request for a detailed personal history. We discuss what could fit and make the proposed arrangements clear.
If Safe Space’s route suits you, start with its official individual-services page. If you are still comparing providers, our online counselling services guide also includes Talk Your Heart Out. Once an appointment is arranged, the first-session guide offers general help with beginning the conversation.
For urgent support, use an appropriate public crisis-support route rather than waiting for a routine platform enquiry.
