How to tell whether therapy is helping
Look at the goal and daily life, rather than whether every session feels good.

We explain your proposed arrangement.
Your appointment time is arranged with you.
Progress may show up in how you respond to a recurring situation, what you understand or a decision that becomes clearer. Relief after an appointment is not the only measure. Discuss your goals and experience with the clinician, and raise a concern if the work stays unclear or does not address what matters to you.
Compare a recognisable situation
Choose something that happens often enough to notice: an evening of work worry, a difficult family call or avoiding a conversation. What has changed in how you respond? What is still difficult? This is an original reflection prompt, not a validated outcome score. You do not need to monitor yourself all day or treat a hard week as proof that nothing is helping.
Use a review to decide the next step
Bring the observation into the session. You can discuss whether the goal, approach or pace needs to change. If the difficulty is growing or functioning is worsening, appropriate reassessment may be needed. If the match itself feels wrong, Counsilio will listen to your concerns and help explore another person. Paying for more sessions without understanding the purpose is not the only option.
Questions about therapist fit
Should I feel better after every session?
No guaranteed immediate feeling is expected. Some conversations are difficult; the broader purpose, safety and direction of the work matter.
What if I cannot see a change?
Discuss that directly. Review the goal and approach rather than assuming you personally failed or must continue unchanged.
