It is okay to not be okay.
It is also okay to ask for help.

Thoughtful Therapy, delivered with care.

What to expect from therapy

Therapy is a process — not a fast fix.

Therapy is a guided conversation with a trained professional. It is not about getting quick advice or a fast fix. It is a process to help you understand yourself, your emotions, and your patterns, and work through what matters at your own pace.

What therapy is

The work
  • A collaborative process with a trained professional
  • A private space to explore thoughts, emotions, and patterns
  • A relationship built on trust, empathy, and consistency
  • A process that supports change over time

What therapy isn't

Common myths
  • Advice-giving or problem-solving
  • A single session fix
  • A linear process — progress takes time
  • Something that works only when things are at their worst
Progress

What progress looks like

Progress in therapy is rarely linear. It often involves reflection, difficulty, and trying again. This is not a sign that therapy is failing — it is part of the work. Change comes through understanding, not speed.

Time

How long therapy takes

There is no fixed timeline. Some people notice shifts early. Others work through patterns that take longer to understand. Meaningful change generally requires consistency over several months — not because the process is slow, but because that is how people change.

You do not need to know what to say before your first session. The therapist will guide the conversation. You only need to show up.

Why we exist

The problem isn't that therapy doesn't work.
It's that it stays out of reach.

Challenges people face seeking help

  • Awareness of mental health remains limited, and seeking help is still accompanied by stigma in many communities.
  • Finding a therapist who is the right fit is not straightforward.
  • The cost of sustained, quality therapy is difficult to maintain over time.

What happens as a result

A consequence
Care gets delayed.
And another
Difficulties are carried alone.

The problem is not that therapy does not work. It is that sustained access to quality care remains out of reach for many people.

Our role.  We exist to help bridge that gap — responsibly, and without compromise.

How we do it

Access without compromise.

Making therapy more accessible does not mean reducing its quality. It means rethinking how care is delivered — carefully and responsibly.

i.

Clinically governed care

Therapy on our platform operates under a structured clinical governance model, led by a Clinical Director. Clinical supervision is standard — not optional.

  • Clear ethical and professional standards
  • Oversight in complex clinical situations
  • Clinical decisions guided by care, not convenience
iii.

Sustained care, at a considered cost

Good therapy requires time. A process that is constantly interrupted by financial pressure cannot do what it is meant to do. Our pricing is structured to support continuity — so that the focus remains on the work, not the cost.

Progress is possible when care is consistent, uninterrupted, and priced to support continuity — not pressure.

  • 01 How often should I attend therapy?

Session frequency depends on your needs and what you are working through. Many clients begin with weekly sessions and adjust over time. Consistency matters more than frequency.

  • 02 What if I don't feel comfortable with my therapist?

It is normal for trust to take time to develop. If after a few sessions the fit does not feel right, we can help you find a more suitable therapist. Your comfort within the therapeutic relationship is important to the work.

  • 03 How private is online therapy?

All sessions are confidential and conducted in accordance with professional ethical standards. Your information is protected, and what you share in sessions remains private.

  • 04 Is therapy covered by insurance?

Coverage varies by provider and plan. We are able to provide receipts that you can submit for reimbursement where applicable.

  • 05 What issues can I bring to therapy?

You can bring any emotional, relational, or mental health concern — including anxiety, low mood, stress, life transitions, relationship difficulties, or anything that feels difficult to manage on your own. You do not need a diagnosis to begin.

  • 06 How is progress measured in therapy?

Progress in therapy is personal. Your therapist may use periodic check-ins and reflective conversations to help you notice change over time. There is no single measure — progress looks different for each person.

  • 07 Can children or teens use your platform?

No. Counsilio currently serves adults aged 18 and older only.

  • 08 How do I start a session?

Contact the Counsilio care team through WhatsApp using a “Speak to our therapist” link or one of the options above. Ask about suitable support, fees, availability and how to arrange a session. Choosing an option above prepares a message for you to review and send; opening WhatsApp does not book a session.
